Car: 2.0 SE
Problem: when accelerating off the line quickly in first gear I can never get the car into second gear over 4000 revs with anything remotely like a quick gearchange. You have to hover in neutral for half a second then you can change. Anyone else come accross this?
I work in a garage and have personally tried 7 other CCs and all allowed me to change up quickly. Is it just my car?
Peugeot refuse to look at the gearbox because they do not seem to think anyone would want to change up over 4000 RPM.

Any ideas?

Mine's fine. If they refuse to look, ask them why the rev limit's 6500rpm and not 4000rpm. Then threaten to speak to trading standards.

Yep, I have a 2.0 as well and the gearbox can be quite annoying - I am one of those people that likes to put the engine through its paces (usually always change around 4K) but 2nd gear just doesnt like it...

Will get the techo's to have a look but the car is such fun to drive that I will forgive the gearbox...touch wood have done 4500kms (in the last month & half) and have had no major problems to report - the roof doesnt even leak!!...
