i have found that most dealers now insist you use your own insurance although they never a few years back.I was going to book a courtesy car when my car went in for a leak to be seen to but they said I had to insure it myself. I checked with my insurance company and they wanted to charge me £15 - is this normal?!
it must be some kind of policy as to keep a long story short a mis-understanding between staff at my dealer lead me to believe my 2nd CC would be ready a day earlier in planned - turns out someone was told that my rejected CC was ready but the person who phoned me didn't know it had been rejected  anyway i had been using a P307 2.0GLX for 5 weeks while waiting on my replacement and knew i couldn't ask my insurance company to extend it another day as they were getting a little p****d off with me as it was. anyway the dealer was told they would need to insure the 307 themselves for the extra day. that meant even although it was their courtesy car they had to get their hire drive dept to treat it as a hire car so they could insure it and the sales dept paid hire drive for the rental. i take it dealer policies no longer allow them to insure customers in most cases.
i wouldn't be happy with my insurance company if they were charging me £15 to do this. axa who i am with moved my insurance between my 1st CC and four different courtesy cars that i used for a total of just over 10 weeks and then onto my 2nd CC all at no charge. i wasn't even a long term customer with them as i just moved to them when i got my CC as Egg Insure wanted another £200 from me just for to insure the CC on the last 4 months of my policy so I had only been with Axa for 14 weeks during all of this happening.
so to complete my essay

Gald to see I'm not alone with the squeaky brake problem. My CC's at the dealers again (visit number 6) to have those mice removed from those brakes. The Service Manager said on my last visit "I'm not sure we're gonna be able to fix this". [/b]"Believe me, you are gonna fix it!", was the reply. That seemed to get him focussed! The dealer is contacting Peugoet today to get some info - I'll keep fellow sufferers updated.

I am glad I read this thread as my brakes have been squeaking for well over a month but my partner said "oh it will be some dirt on the brakes" and not anything that Peugeot will fix free of charge. I may now ask them if they will look at it.
Also, I had similar problems getting a courtesy car when mine when in to get the leaky roof looked at. The Dunstable garage insisted I took out my own insurance (at a cost of £15) but Perrys at Milton Keynes gave me one free. The only problem is that MK is a long way from my house!!! (so I may have paid more in petrol to get there!)
