Wheel repair it- my mechanic mate totally agrees with you on this. One tank will have no bearing (unless you fill it wiuth diesel, in which case you engine will not be well)

However in our shell petrol stations the LRP is gone and we now have 2 green unleaded petrol handles (one high octane, and ridiculously expensive, the other standard and ridiculously expensive)

So what's with the red handles???
Yes, I'm a girl!

1 Tank wont bother the car - i used to do a 1/2 unleaded and 1/2 4* tank once every couple of months in my old car - gave it a little more go. Now i just optimax. Whoever had the old VW there are still some places where 4* is available, but hard to find - there is a website which lists em all, but i cant remember the address (halpful aint i?)

I always thought the nozzles were different sizes so that this kind of confusion couldn't occur.

We went to a BP garage the other day to get some super for our impreza and the nozzle didn't fit, so when we went in to ask about it they said that the pump we were trying to use used to be an LRP pump, but they had changed it to unleaded. Then to add insult to injury they told us that the fuel we had just managed to put in was actually normal unleaded (95) and they had still charged for super (97), but on the receipt it still said LRP! So we havn't a clue what the impreza has in it at the moment!!
