Erm

Can you explain please how I owe Mr Awol an apology???????????

What have I done except make a very valid point that those type of comment could be interpretated by certain people in a certain way.

Have I accused anybody of anything??????

Have I made a statement regarding racism?????????

No, read my post properly mate............

You will see that if I was to present this post to make a point with PUG uk relating to a very common problem, which is in the benefit of every CC owner, calling mechanics monkeys is really not going to help my cause.

Im really sorry I posted something serious and not having a laugh calling people monkeys :( :( :( :( :( :(

Never mind, I am asking for help, I want to try to get as many posts regarding this problem and make a case. Someone uses my post to have a laugh, I object and I have to apologise.

Tell me what I have done wrong and I will apologise.

Regards

Sam

To be honest this is going to go off topic, which is not what I wanted, and the whole thread is not much use to present now anyway.

The reason I posted this was I know the same thing has been done on the MGF site which I use to be a memeber of when I had an MGF. They had a problem with blown head gaskets, rover HO was approached with a print out of the post, they ignored it so it was sent to watchdog, beleive me they took notice then.

Paul

Thank you for your post, let me know how you get on.

Sam

Thank you Alex for that, I think my mistake was posting my request in the discussion forum and not the problems section.

And my thanks go to people who add their details to the new link/thread Alex has created.

I am open to suggestions and ideas to the best way to present this to PUG UK; this is what I was thinking

1. Speak to PUG UK first and get an initial response.
2. Forward a copy of the thread (the new one) to PUG UK.
3. Collate info from other forums and see if I can get some stats relating to how long an average manifold lasts before replacing.

If I don’t get any positive feed back from PUG UK....

1. Speak to Watchdog to see if they are interested.
2. Contact motoring magazines.

Please don’t be too critical of my ideas and give feed back that will help present this case in the most constructive, professional, and effective possible way.

Thanks

Erm

I was not incinuating anything but complaining that the comments made could be peceived in many different ways, and would not benfit resolving this problem, which is for everyones benfit (including you).

But since you dont give a flying fcuk then dont bother continuing to post, I hope the next time you post wanting help everyone responds with "I dont give a flying fcuk" also.

And just to make it clear AGAIN I was not accusing, incinuating, or labelling MR_AWOL, if it read that way it was not my intentions.

This is all irrelevant now anyway as Alex has very kindly set up another thread for me.

Hope that clears it up.

what's all that about sam ?????

calm down, erm's post followed mine which was similar and i interpretated it the same way.

if we got it wrong then just say so and not make such a big deal about it.

as a finishing point, erm has posted a lot of crap on this forum :P but also a lot of useful help and information so i would hope any future request by him for help didn't get the response that you suggested.

Derek

I agree with you and to be honest this has all started with my objection to a response I got and my post being misinterpreted, which I have tried twice to explain.

Yes my posts are too long sometimes (probably most times) and I am now aware I went the wrong way requesting the type of help I wanted (should of done what Alex set up for me).

But I felt erm's last post was quite aggresive, maybe I misinterpreted it, and therefore my response was likewise.

If people are still following this thread, all I ask now is that you please add your details to the new thread if you have had to have a replacement manifold so I can try to present a case to PUG UK.

I will post back my progress on a new thread
Cheers

Thanks for your input. If I was going to print this thread and send it PUG UK, your monkey comments will really help my cause. I find it very amusing you can use someone elses problems to humour yourself, which you then feel you have to share with everybody else. And to be honest the monkey jokes are getting a little tiresome.

As there are 2 mechanics at my PUG dealer that are of ethnic background (Afro-Caribbean) Im sure they will find your commenst hilarious.

Cheers mate.

Sam1974
Now i KNOW this has all died down, and there is no need for me to drag it all back up again................................

But I'm gonna anyway! :P

Could i please make the following points? :
1. The insinuation that calling ANYONE a monkey is automatically a racist comment is emblematic of the world we live in these days - I have had throughout life friends from many ethnicities, and my best friend is Chinese, so i am sure you will understand my indignation at being labelled racist
2. If you wanted to print the thread and show it to PUG head office, then it really doesnt matter what other crap is on there - at the end of the day this is a public formum, and your case also wouldnt have been helped by any one of the large majority of us who havent had problems stating that fact. However, i wonder if you would have treated THEM with the same contempt.
3. I REALLY think you could do with lightening up a little, or maybe a lot. I am constantly doing the type of thing you are currently trying to do, but the key to sucess is to not let it bother YOU, and make sure it bothers THEM!
4. Your attack on Derek and Erm is also uncalled for - you seem to have had a grudge against me for typing something you disagreed with ages ago (leading to the highly immature judge dread cartoon) and I thought it was all over, i hope you will not now start up a similar feud with them.

Now hopefully we can all be friends again? Maybe Sam was suffering work pressures or just the stress of having shelled out so much money to be faced with problems that shouldnt be there on a car that costs almost £18,000!!!!!

Yeah i know - sorry to drag it all up but i have been away for a few days so was unable to comment at the time!

By the way, am currently in the process of trying to get Kent Auto Panels in Folkestone removed from the list of Peugeot approved bodyshops/dealership/whatever on account of they have been carrying out work that was NOT necessary and seem to have bolloxed up my car in the process! The missus has an uncle of reasonable importance in Pug HQ so i may have to give him a buzz.
