I recently approached jamjar.com for either help or a replacement / refund vehicle after mine had been off the road 30 days. I was told they could not assist, refund or replace the 3 month old vehicle, as it was covered by the warranty, the week return period was past, and they 'were sure the dealer was doing all they could' to repair the car. They would not accept my arguments re Sale of Goods act! I contacted What Car?, car fixed in a week, £200 cheque received from jamjar with letter of apology from Direct Line MD, and an article to appear in May What Car?!

Good on you. I am due to recieve my car and was wondering that just in case I get same hassle could you give me the contact details you used for what car? Also what was wrong with your car and how did What car go about sorting it for you?

If I have a problem, I'll be straight on to Watchdog, considering Virgin appeared on the show a couple of weeks ago arguing the case for prices to come down (and promoting themselves along with it).

Sorry for the late reply, too much time spent reading on this forum!

Auto gear box did not kick down. Replaced after about 13 weeks, 8 to convince the dealer it was faulty, 5 for new gear box to arrive. Car now rejected with ongoing faults, loss of power / warning lights, roof problems, pulling back when accelerating, revs increase and car surges forward. You name it!

Add the car's details to the rejection section so other buyers are warned when your dealer decides to sell it on

I will do Rachel, as long as jamjar keep to their word and swap the car.
