Sara, Perhaps you could tow Rob on his skateboard behind you?
That would make an unusual convoy.
(I remember Frank Spencer doing that once with a bus - no offence intended).

That what I suggested, but he seemed a little upset when I told him I wouldn't have time to stop, we would have to wait for me at the top of a big hill, so he could pick up enough speed to grab hold of the handles on the back.

Now you've found out what those handles are really for, you'll have to keep it quiet, or we'll all be finding at least a dozen skateboarders hanging on behind.
