Hi Lisa

Mine is leaking in the same places, but not the front passenger side. And it has from day 1, did they say how long the seals would take? I'm still driving my car and have just put an old t-shirt in the corner to catch the drops of rain without ruining my back seats. And luckily it hasn't been raining that much these last few days

Hi Col,

They didn't say how long the seals would take - they couldn't guarantee anything especially as its xmas too.

My leaks were just getting worse that I thought I'd rather it be in the workshop keeping dry than spoiling my back seats!!
...and after spending over £16K for it... I told them they could have it back until it was fixed!!!

I will keep you posted as they were going to try & adjust the roof for me.

glad you are keeping it at the garage if the leaks are that bad.

BE WARNED - make sure they are keeping it inside if its wet and at night. When my 1st set of seals were 'damaged' my car got so wet that I now have a constant problem with dampness inside and the windows constantly steam up - hence the roof off a lot even in this weather.

Any owner with one that doesn't leak should take it back and complain - not getting value for money

Hi,
Have never used a forum before so please be patient with me whilst i get the hang of it -desperation with my 206CC has driven me to this.

My car came home at the beginning of jan. this year and so far i have driven it twice - on both excited occassion when venturing forth into the unknown with my new baby i was unexpectedly greeted by a very wet drivers seat and rear passsenger seat (drivers side) - the car has been back with the dealer three times now and all i have been getting is rubbish from them. I had a call this thursday to tell me the car was AGAIN fixed and that they had re-aligned the drivers door and TRIED to sort out the seal - it was being valeted and would be ready for collection about 5pm - i duly arrived to be told that they wanted to run yet more test to MAKE SURE the problem was fixed and i am now not expecting the car back until at least friday of this week - Has anyone had a successful conclusion to having their leak fixed? If so what was it.

I am hoping that having a new car will help.

If not I may just cry....

But seriously, reject the car and get a new one.

Hi Caro,

I'm one of the rare few who had a leak and has had it fixed succesfully  It wasn't as bad as yours though, so I'm not sure the solution will be appropriate. My problem was with the seals holding water which then poured out over you when you cornered or braked. Your problem seems to be more serious if the car's getting wet when stationery. If they can't fix it, do as Rob suggested and reject the car, that was what I was going to do if they hadn't fixed mine at the fourth attempt. Good luck.

Caro,

i had a small leak on the drivers side and it went to the dealer to get repaired.

it came back with exactly what you have but on both sides - the dealer denied that it was their fault - probably 100% embarrassed to say anything different.

the car has now been at the dealer 25/67 days of ownership. they were told it would be rejected if it came back with the same faults again.

seals were due in last wednesday - never arrived - they have promised to find out and give me an update on monday - if they can't give date or the date is considered excessive then the car will be rejected on monday.

derek

Hi, Rob,Derek and Lisa

Thanks for all your input, we have warned our dealer that if the car comes back and the leak is not fixed we will be returning it to them, everyone seems to be a bit hazy on whether or not they have to accept the car back, but we have finally had written confirmation that if the leak happens again in the next 4 weeks we will have a full refund but if nothing happens in 4 weeks but then happens before 12 weeks - they will replace the car -Honestly i can't see that they are going to manage to solve the problem bearing in mind how long everyone else's problems seem to have been going on for. We still do not have a date as to when the car will be returned - apparently it is still undergoing RAIN tests.

Will let you know the outcome, thanks again.

Derek,
We managed to get a letter from the Sales Director at our dealership on Friday which didn't say very much, so we spoke to the overall head of the dealership who agreed the 4/12 week deal and confirmation of this should be with me in the morning. I will let you know the exact wording as soon as i have the letter - it may be a good line of attack if you need to go back to your dealer.
I have to admit that we have been asked some strange questions i.e - was the car parked on a slope or incline of any sort ?? - it wasn't but even if it was surely that is no reason for a leak!!.

We did also contact Peugeot U.K and asked them what their returns policy was - they said they didn't have one and that as far as they could remember only 1 car had ever been returned and refunded !!! I don't suppose it would be something to shout about but they were not very helpful at all.

Will let you know more when i know more.

I can understand the 'silly questions' as they want to replicate it.

But I did notice something strange on mine last Wednesday. If I park with the wind coming directly from the right then I get a loud whistling sound through the edge of the roof seal above my head. Of course thats where the water comes in as well. Have looked more closely at my roof and the whole thing is twisted.

But my new one arrived today so I dont care anymore  March 1st here I come

Derek,

Time to call it a day with your car I think. I've had my seals replaced twice, once last October, once last month. On both occasions they managed to get replacement seals from Peugeot in 24 hours. Have you spoken to the dealer principal and after sales director at you dealership? That did the trick for me and they'll have the power to authorise replacement or refund.
