Hi Rob,
Hope the tech can shed some light on all our problems!! - how long is he with you?!!!!

My CC is in the garage for 7 days from next Monday to try and sort out my problems.

The main problems are:

1. Drivers window rattles terribly
2. Passenger window rattles a bit
3. Roof leaks by drivers side quarter light
4. Roof leaks badly on drivers side where windscreen joins roof when braking
5. Car ticks over with a slight judder every couple of seconds
6. Auto volume does not work even though it is set to on

I look forward to hearing his comments and will keep you posted as to how my repairs go.

Rgds

Can you also mention about new stereo head with cassette that I wanted to upgrade to as I was told it was not compatible with new CC wiring loom yet 307 & 406 have them!!!

Thanks very much!

He did however say he had resigned from peugeot and was leaving the next day to work for VW

That says lots about peugeot then doesnt it

Hi Rob
so I take it he wasnt sent to look at the car by Peugeot then? Did you get any answer at all about the leaks from Peugeot?

Not sure if this is of any help, but when my car went back to peugeot in Coventry for the leak to be fixed, I spoke to one of the top bods up there who advised me that there was a batch of about 100 roof seals that were faulty. They said it was a case of when a car had this problem they could identify and then change the seal.

Prior to doing this they used silicone around the seal as advised by Peugeot in France, however this made the leaks worse!!

Since my car went to Peugeot and the new seal was fitted I have had no further leaks.

Hi Claire
That makes good sense. My first cc had very different seals to my new one. Neither of them leaked but it would seem that if some roof seals were faulty then that is why a few people have experienced leaks. Surely all their dealer has to do is replace with the new seals. I think also that the "leak" when it rains is not really a leak at all but just due to the design of the car. When I open my door after it has rained I get a few drops of water on the front seat. I must admit I just take acloth with me now so I can dry it up. Anyway no rain lately so all leaks forgotten!!!!

I had my seals replaced twice, the second time didn't make any difference.

Hi Liz, yes he was sent by Peugeot. He did replace the roof seals on Melanioes and used LOTS and LOTS of sealant stuff. The roof didnt leak when tested. So tested it in the early hours of the next day whilst it was still cold.

It leaked in. It seems to confirm what I previously thought that the colder it is the more likely a leak. Almost as if either the seals contract enough to let water in or they become less supple and so dont form a good seal.

Any way as we have sold Melanies car its not really an issue any more for us.

But I dont want to wash my hands of it all and leave the rest of you guys in the lurch.

So in essence the guy came, he tried with 'new seals' and mastic and it failed.

I am aware of some people thinking its due to the opening of the door when the roof is wet. I agree in some instances but this cant be the case when it leaks in the passenger side as well and you havent opened that door for a few days???

It just seems to be a 'pot luck' thing. You are either lucky and get a good CC or you are ME.
