Due to an unfortunate accident, some dumb@55 has managed to totally trash one of my wing mirrors (and bracket) after driving a little too close to me in a congested street. Does anyone have any idea of cost as I'd like to call them with the good news before they go on holiday ?!

Hi,

Cost of a new wing mirror its about 90 quid i think, comes as a whole bit on the outside and is easy to fit. One plug for the electronics, and a couple of screws for the actual wing mirror. Interestingly the colour coded bit at the top doesnt come with it, so u gotta make sure u rescue your one.

Cheers Rob and Erm. 90 squid sounds a bit on the cheap side considering the unit contains a motor and the mirror is heated...glad if it is though. As for the colour coded bit, it flew off and is itself broken so will have to be replaced. It all needs to get sorted out before the meet in 2 weeks !

Thats quite good for a wing mirror. Erm/Rob how much does a new headlight cost on the CC. Just wondered as I paid nearly 200 quid for my Renault Megane Coupe
Regards

Hi - Erm, you were bang on.

The price for the unit is £93.28 which is the whole kit and caboodle (is that how you spell it ?)
The colour coded segment is included but NOT painted, this (apparently) will cost me £40.
Fitting is approx £16

The cheapest I found was £122 all in (fitting and spraying) which ain't bad.

Now to replace the kerbed alloy I noticed yesterday while cleaning the car, must have happened in reaction to her hitting me....Rob - you got any spare ?

Hi stuart,

To be perfectly honest with u, i wouldnt pay for fitting. Its really simple to change it cause it comes in one big piece, only requiring a couple of screws and one simple plug for the electronics. Upto you at the end of the day, but i thought i'd let u know how simple it is

Erm - thanks again for that. You're right though - normally I'd sort it out myself, on this occasion the individual responsible is paying, so it will be done by the garage - might quosh her kamikaze driving habits in future

Now all I have to do is find a garage that has one of the buggers in stock. My 2 local dealerships have them on back-order.

(I've become a a post-o-holic)

Rob - I'll have that wheel.

Looks like I'm not going to get my wing mirror before the meet. I did suggest the dealership fit a used piece from one of the forecourt non-movers, that'd be FAR too helpful !
Thanks again to Rob, managing to source one for quids less. Rob, you got people on the inside, or are you handy with a screwdriver, you said you worked nights !?

nothing dodgy here. I just like to reason with suplliers.

sell us lots with small profit on each or a few with bigger profits.

They work out the maths and agree to what I ask for

Shame Peugeot still cant get their a***s into gear and sort my rejection out.

Looks like its not just posters in the loan car protest soon. Its also gonna be me outside the dealers with posters.
