Hi...

Ive got a pretty mean install in my car.. Ive got focalalpine components up front driven by a soundstream amp, and 2 8" bazookas in the boot driven by a 1000W Genesis amp (hmmmmmm..).

I reckon a phat capacitor for the Sub amp should help things along a bit and tighten the bass...has anyone tried this? How do you wire the Cap to the amp?

Cheers

Steve

Yup it basically stores the electricity and can release it a lot quicker than the battery can - which means if you have some massive bass thumps, whereas a battery could have problems supplying the power (you would get either a cut out or maybe distortion) the capacitor would be able to supply the power instead.

Unless you're experiencing cut-out then I don't think it would help you a great deal.

Anyone feel free to correct me thou!

Yup the lights dim a bit, as do the interior lights....Its got shed loads of bass...

I think it should help distortion. With tight bass notes the bass speakers respond well and clear, but deep, long varying notes often sound distorted - but not as if the speakers are blowing.

Cheers

Hi,

I have to 8" bazooka bass tubes in the boot...they were cheapish at about £200 a peice, and can take a pounding..

If you buy a smaller amp then the neighbours won't here you coming...ive just got a phat amp and 2 of them...

No problems yet and I have had them a year..

Cheers

you have a 1000watt amp powering 2 subs that are rated at 150 watts max?
maybe that's why they sound bad!!

i have a powered bazooka 8" and it sounds great
very powerful and the sound depends a lot on the crossover setting
if you have it all the way up (200Hz)it sounds very boomy
but lower it about half way (150Hz) and it starts sounding better
around 100-120 is the best sound
very tight and very loud
but if you raise the volume a lot the top part of the trunk starts vibrating
