Lyndon, i'll move your forum over to the new server.

Please note, some post WILL be lost in the process.

Wot am going to do is copy the forum to the new server, so there is in theory two of the same forum running, then re-direct the domain to the new server.

The downtime will be minimal.

If you have any questions, post here.

Vinney - oh dear - no offence intended.

I just thought that it was a technical comment posted without prior warning about maybe members losing some posts, especially at that time of night.

Again, sorry if my comment came across the wrong way.

(Hmm, I take it that's a no to the money transfer then? I'll settle for half a mill? lol)

our move at the club went quite well but Vinney has some serious work to do.

The only posts that were lost is what people had made after Vinney had made a copy.

No great heart ache really.

Those with high speed connections will notice a vast improvement.

Sounds good, its great that this Forum seems to be developing along nicely.

Just a suggestion, seems a good idea to inform members beforehand of significant changes. Vinneys message out of the blue that posts might be lost etc can easily be mistaken for a windup as I had at first.

After all, we've had quite a few wind-up merchants on these type of Forums before, Sue's post being the latest.

Well it seems logical to me.

As Vinney is legitimate and no one knows his password (I hope) surely he can post saying not to post until further notice.

When he has the new one up he can put another post on saying it is all OK again to post.

This way we lose no posts, unless they are from Sue!!
