Well had my car for 4 days now so decided it was time to start changing things,

So pulled out the standard Clarion CD/Tuner and fitted an Alpine INA-N033R DVD SatNav /CDTuner

Will be adding 12CD/MP3 changer and new speakers in the next week or so when they arrive,

Uneventful install, except for the fact that the 206cc has a reflective coating on the windscreen that screws up that sat signal! Doh!, but managed to hide the Sat Antenna under the bonnet in the plastic vent tray (The Sat signat will pass through the plastic vent no problem, but not the glass with the coatings!

Impressive stuff - there is actually a break in the coating where the rear view mirror is. If you can get a wire up there then it may work!

Hi

Yes thought of that, but once I found out it would work while hidden under the bonnet, even better totally out of site that way, if the perferomance does suffer there I will move it later this week

Hi Dave

The GPS antenna is under the bonnet, in the platic tray under the black bonnet vent, it gets a good signal though there and is out of sight, I tried on the dash but because of the coating on the screen to reflect heat it could not get a signal.

Speed Pulse Cable was taken from the pulse feed for the radio,

The Alpines are a great system,

As a followup to my post above on the location of the SATNAV ARIEL, here is a picture of the unit to clear up any confusion,

It is mounted on some magnetic stick pads so does not move around but easy to shift when cleaning and picks up a superb signal though the plastic vent above

Hi

I got this one from Hendon Car Stereo in London, cost £650 for the SatNav, I shopped around a bit and found them to be the best for a retail outlet (There we a couple of Internet ops a few quid cheaper, but no paperwork no comeback!,) so figured £650 for a shop fit with full warranty was a good deal,

The MP3 Changer was from closer to home (Nottingham)

Hendon Car Stereo's Website

http://www.hendoncarstereo.co.uk

But the price on there is high, you need to phone them and say you saw one installed that was £650 from them, then they will do it for that

Hi Victoria,

I have been trying to get my Blaupunkt navigation installed but I can't get anyone to give me detials on the speed sensor wire (Including Pug dealers and Blau directly)

Do you know what the identification number of the wire is or its location on the plugs etc.

Any information that you or anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Mick.

Hi

There is a great connection point with a reliable connection under the bonnet,

It is in the Bonnet Fuse Connections box, as pictured below, it is on wire14 (Yellow wire), on the black connector,

For more details see the satnav section on my webpage, www.206cc.us

..keep in mind that the wire number is always more important is then the color or position on a connector (they could change that without notice)
the wire number is 6739 on postion 14 on the connector that vicky suggested if theirs none their you can look at the 10pin black connector then its at position 2 number 6739
if you have a Roland Garros 206 cc then the speedpuls wont be their; it will be at the big wiring tube that runs nexted left side of the engine compartment (dont know if its different with right steer cars) also wire number 6739

Hi,

Thanks for adding the additional information on the variants.

I had heard there were several positions for the wire but has assumed that the Yellow in Pin14 was present on all variants,

All the information should be available now for anyone wanting to attempt it on any variant

Vicky,
Thanks again for the information, I metered the connection and it is definately a speed pulse on my Oct 2002 2 Litre Australian model. I have it connected to the navigation unit now and the results are incredible (compared to the previous magnets on the prop shaft which was so unreliable that when approaching an intersection the nav would think that I overshot it and ask me to do a U turn)

On this occasion you have delivered when 2 Pug dealers an auto electrician and various car sound mobs have failed.

Mick.
