A while ago I was talking about attaching some 6x9's to my windstop to go along with my new kenwood components, EQ, 12" Sub and 2 amps.
Well, it is done! But not with 6x9's. They are actually 7x10's and the sound is
basically, Erm hooked me up with a mate and we did the job today. We cut a parcel shelf to the shape of the windstop, carpeted it and screwed it to the surround of the stop. The speaker cables come from the rear enclosures and have been pulled out from where the seatbelt comes (as seen in the first pic). They are 320w max power kenwoods and they are so loud I can't hear the front speakers so will have to adjust the gains.
They give excellent punch and clarity. I recommend the idea to anyone who wants a bit more from their ICE. You can still take off the windstop, you just have to disconnect the speaker wire from the terminal which only takes a few seconds obviously. Full pix are on my owner ID but here are some snapshots. With the doors shut, you wouldn't know they were there.
