When I put my roof back up yesterday evening and looked in the boot I noticed that the white toggle thing (looks like a bathroom light switch)that is part of the funny mechanism in the boot was lying on the floor - the cord had snapped.
I guess that the roof had caught up on the toggle and snapped it when I put it down - either that or the Peugeot mouse had got bored with making squeeking noises from the brakes and moved into the boot!!
Does anybody know what the function of this toggle is - my guess is that it is some kind of manual release if the roof electrics fail (surley that wouldn't happen!!), it doesn't seem to cause any problem so I don't know whether or not I need to get it looked at now or wait till the 6,000 service.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks Neil

Go take it to the dealer!
Yes the bathroom light pull IS the manual function for the roof.
I am sure someone else here had the same problem!

Hi all
the moral of this story is : when you get the bathroom light pull fixed make sure it stays well and truly in the hole where it belongs and check it every time you go in the boot to make sure. Mine fell off on the first cc and I replaced it a few times (took me ages though!!!) No one told me however that it should be pushed firmly into its hole. Eventually the roof jammed and Peugeot sent a technition out to my car to repair it. The guy told me that it had caused a few problems because the manual doesnt make it clear that the toggle should be in the hole. Anyway enough of holes and things that go in them!!!!
Hope this helps

Agree with Liz. Shortly after I got my CC I started to notice a 2 part noise on opening. First was a glass sound and next a clunk. The "white thingy" was hanging and was being hit by the rear window and then further pulled when the roof itself went in. Luckily found the problem before it ripped itself to bits. I've sent feedback to Peugeot that there should be some notice displayed at the hole and even a tag on the cord.
Great advice to check every time you open the boot.
Get to your dealer pronto and don't accept for anything less than it being fixed under warranty.
Cheers
