Hi All
Actually the security lights are a big deterrent. I walk test ours every month to make sure they are all working. We have got 4!!!! Our cars are actually parked in garages overnight but even when hubbys car has been left out (I wouldnt leave mine out, might get distressed in the dark)we havnt had any problems but others with no lights have. Ours are up on the eves so you need a very very long ladder to reach them. Next door had them only first floor height (burglers disarmed them) and her car got broken into(and the house but thats another story!). So get those security lights fitted!!

Except, of course, the shirts you stick on the windows when you're on your way to the match

If any of you A***nal and Sprus fans are going to Drayton Manor tomorrow, we may see you on the way. You will recognise us - Black Y reg with a West Ham sticker in the back screen. (better take it out after reading these posts)

That bit is absolutely true,it happened to me, dunno about the alloy master key bit though.

A few years back, in my old flat, I'd left the pub BEFORE last orders, walked under the light and it didn't come on... then I saw it was turned to the wall.

I thought, what's going on, then spotted some kid hiding behind my bike (Yamaha, not Raleigh). I chased him, made a grab for him but missed by 6 inches - he'd put a spurt on when he saw Steve chasing us with a baseball bat... he might have caught him if he'd had a few less beers and his trousers on round the right way  (just got out of bed when he heard the commotion).

A neighbour called the police and they found the slide hammer still in my ignition. The old bill said it was lucky I'd left the pub early, as 5 mins later it would've been gone. PC Plod took me for a cruise in the back of his squad car (locked in cos I was hopping mad) to see if I could identify him and there he was, loitering in a disused petrol station with his mates. Pc Plod asked if I could formally identify him and I said yes, it's him but - he's changed jackets with his mate - so Plod said that wasn't good enough for a formal id and just took me home. Game over.

I was fuming. They took the slide hammer for fingerprinting but couldn't get anything off it, dunno how hard they tried though.

Sorry to ramble, but I still fume about it.

Moral is - put the sensor so bl**dy high no-one can reach it. And get a BIG DOG.
