Hey Guys!
I was just wondering if anyone's had any of the following problems with their cc's:

- had to get a bootlid and rear end resprayed under warranty
- back 'parcel' shelf around rear seats is warping and buckling
- dash board has dropped slightly on the drivers side, and slight evidence of warping in the middle
- cv's starting to click when turning right (with only 15000 on the clock)
- rattling engine at idle, when its warmed up
- stereo loses memory often
- engine 'tappet' noise is VERY evident during acceleration

(have i got myself a lemon here - should i just get rid of it now, while i still have 14 months left on the warranty?)

Please someone else let me know if they've had these problems, so i don't feel so alone.
:-(

Rod.

known problem peugeot put it down to the sun warping it  ask sara about it,sure she had her's replaced

- dash board has dropped slightly on the drivers side, and slight evidence of warping in the middle

don't know about this problem sorry :(

- stereo loses memory often

VERY common problem in the multiplexing CC's there's surposed to be a new stereo version out that solves this problem

- engine 'tappet' noise is VERY evident during acceleration

sure it's not the manifold problem that shows itself around the 2800-3000rpm mark

(have i got myself a lemon here - should i just get rid of it now, while i still have 14 months left on the warranty?)

may be hard to reject it after all this time i'm afraid, i could be wrong tho

Please someone else let me know if they've had these problems, so i don't feel so alone.

Peugeot never did sort my problem out, my uncle with his little used car show room sorted. As far as I know we did not have a heatwave between Oct and Feb that year, though I did leave the country for two weeks and leave the car in the garage. It must of been then  My parcel shelf was stuck down with the thick padded tape that body panels are stuck with. had no trouble since

when i bought my car the rear parcel shelf was warped and i said to fix it please.

they reckoned that Peugeot's recommended method is to put 2 screws in it to hold it down, but it still looks bad.

Hi Rod,

I have the radio problems which I am going to get onto City Pug at my 20k service (17.7k on the clock now)

I get an occasional rattle when starting from cold but don't get it when it is warm. I do get an occasional episode when at idle (traffic lights etc) with the car at running temp where the engine seems to 'miss' sort of what I get on my mower just before it konks out when I close the throttle.

I don't have any of the other probs you mentioned.

I do mainly use the car on longer trips and not for day to day running and it spends the majority of the time in my air conditioned garage so any probs with the spray on the boot may take more time to manifest itself.

Ask them for a new one i think.

Mick.

PS when is the next drive day?

yeah i agree, i have 2 of those, radio mem and rattling engine noise.

on 206gti.net there is this solution to engine noise (vibration problem).

http://206gti.net/enginecover/

i got those noise too but frankly i just leave it coz i drove 3 different peugeot (206XT, 206CC, 307) and all have this noise so i think its 'normal' engine cover vibration like they said.

12 month service was carried out yesterday.

they fixed the engine cover rattle, a rattle in the manifold and one in the boot. its almost a different car now.

also the warped parcel shelf was replaced without asking!! now its nice and straight :)

after trying 2 other service departments in Melbourne, finally at Regan Motors in Hawthorn they treated me and my car as it should have been from day 1 - very happy here indeed.

Omak,

It doesn't work and I disagree totally with what that website says is the problem, I have 4 other cars with RDS capable sets and they have no adverse effects when rds stations are stored/called up from any of the interfaces, from enquiries I have made all the Brisbane/Gold coast stations conform to the RDS standard so saying that it is a problem with the radio stations broadcast is laughable.

The suggestion only works if no RDS stations are stored in memory but after a day or so MMM was then stored into memory slot two by itself.

Thanks anyway for the link and trying to help.

Regards,

PS I spoke with my Pug dealership yesterday and am told that they are replacing the units, the new ones that do not have problems don't have the clarion badge on the top left hand side so if replacing the unit fixes the problems I can't see how anyone can say it is anything other than the unit to blame. Interestingly in the 307s which have the RD3 radio without the clarion badge (everything else identical) the 5 stack CD player they match with it now is badged as Blaupunkt.
