Hi guys,
Just to warn you (if you haven't heard already) there's a really bad virus doing the rounds at the moment, known as SCO, MyDoom or NoVarg.
I've never seen a virus spread as fast as this and it's going to do lots of damage. It comes in e-mails so make sure that you have an up to date virus checker on your system and do not open any attachments unless you know exactly what they are and you are expecting them. Even if the e-mail is from someone you know don't trust it - the virus sends out from other people's addresses so can easily fake its origin.
Be careful!
New virus

hmmm, methinks i'll just bumble along and take no notice as i usually do - haven't noticed anything different anyway, and norton has never told me i have had a problem. Seems every other week there is a new virus that i am supposed to be terrified about - frankly i dont see the point in getting het up about it!

You will see the point when you get infected. How long will it take you to reformat your system and reinstall everything again? And how much hassle will it be? Also are you aware that once you're infected your machine will start infecting others, so it's not just you that has the hassle - it's the thousands of other machines that get infected totally due to your laziness! The virus isn't immediately noticeable to you so you won't notice a difference.hmmm, methinks i'll just bumble along and take no notice as i usually do - haven't noticed anything different anyway, and norton has never told me i have had a problem. Imagine only having 3rd party insurance on your CC. It's fine right up until the point you crash and it's your fault. Then how will you get your car fixed?
Don't be so naieve!
And sorry for the grumble... I spent all monday & tuesday sorting our systems out after people said "oh it won't affect me". Nothing personal

lol well i dont totally ignore all threats, but basically i just try to have a half decent anti-virus package and leave it to do its thing. I reckon the agro/worry/time spent panicing about a virus everytime a new one is released is more hassle than even an annual format
:
What i dont get is maybe whatever's on my pc is quite good (or bad enough not to find it!), or maybe i'm not in the loop on these virus things, as other people do seem to get messages saying that they have had viruses, but i dont
