Hi Guys.. having great fun with my new 206... just wish it would stop bloody raining !!
Anyway could you give me advice ..I saw a link from one of your posts and looked at the site and they were advertising CMC40 Roof Device for the Peugeot 206cc saying....The intended use is allowing the roof to open and close with no need to hold down the activation button, as well as the increase of the driving speed during the roof operation to 25MPH.
Two questions is this any good.. and is it as easy to install as they say... I am NO mechanic.
Just seems strange why they didn't design them to do that in the first place... if the device allows the roof to work at up to 25 mph ...then why force us to pull over if it starts raining ?
I contacted pug about this device as i was going to buy one and fit it, they told me that if somethink went wrong with my roof then it would not be covered by the 3 year warranty as it was not a pug part.
But i do know that it only takes around 10 mins to change so you can take it out if you had a problem before going to your dealer for work to be completed and when the car is in for a service.
Let me know how you get on and if does work at 25 mph.

You can operate the roof when moving but only up to 7mph or so which isn't much use, unless, like me, you put the roof up while cruising along in the car park.
I think what's more useful than the ability to deploy while moving is the feature of only having to operate the switch once and then let go, rather than having to hold on until all the motors have stopped whirring and the little 'bing' has sounded.
I haven't seen or heard anything bad about them. I will be getting one, but it's finances allowing at the mo.
I think the reason they don't come as standard is that with one there's a greater ability for drivers to press the button and then grab the wheel with both hands and stomp on the throttle. Thereby creating many more roofs for Peugeot to fix!
Chris, just noticed you are another Poole owner. Take a look at the spotted section and see if I've spotted you!
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

Would you have it done yourself Lyndon? And have you heard of any adverse effects of having it done ?
like derek i haven't heard of it doing anything wrong but only time may tell on that, as you'll be travelling faster putting the roof up/down so may or may not be more force on the raised bootlid ?!?!?!?!
