good move - best thing i ever done.
living at home was good i guess for £25 per week
but buying a house was best thing i ever done - can't see the point in paying rent as it's just throwing money away. at least buying a place is an investment - unless the prices drop

I should be covered even if they do. Like derek said its pointless throwing money away in rent!
My first place i made £20,000 in 3 years (17k profit after legal/estate agents fees etc)
My current house i have had since July 2002, and its was valued last October at £57,000 more than i paid for it
Hopefully even if they do fall (10-20% drop is almost guaranteed in the next few years) i should be in profit. and, of course, they will always go back up again anyway!

Best thing you can do, def.
I love the feeling when step in through the door after work and close it behind me, shutting everything out. Without fear of a bloody landlord/parent appearing unexpectedly and moaning about what I've done with the place.
And it gives you an excuse (as if a man needs an excuse) to buy tools.
We bought our place in 1999 for £80K and now the houses in our road are going for £160k. Smashing.

Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.
