Hi Guys & Gals

Newbie to this forum so apologies if in wrong place, I'm sure some1 will point it out 2 me 8)

I'm currently looking to buy my 1st cc and have browsed the forums.

Quite a few tales to say the least!!!

1st & oremost - is it worth it?

Not chuffed about the no spare wheel thing but not the end of the world.

I've read that Peugeot will refund replacement tyre costs due to crappy foam they supply etc.

Has ne1 put in mutliple claims to "Pug" and had success with all of them?

I appreciate "teething" problems with all new cars but is it that bad and widespread?

Do they still leak even though problems known about a few years ago?

Any info/advice would be appreciated, don't want to go wasting my hard earned lolly now do I? :?

Many thanks

YES! It is worth it

Driving in the summer with the roof off and the wind in your hair makes up for all its faults!

hi, welcome to the forum :D

worth it oh yes 8), even with the little/big niggles that some of us have had it's all forgot when the suns out and we're cruising along topless some even with their roof's down too ;)

some dealers are better than other's but that can be said about ALL car makers !!!!!!

"teething problems" - not that widespread (i hope) and if you read any other car forum such as this one then they all look like doom and gloom as not many people post saying how wonder their car is, just stuff like, "this is broke again third time it's been in for a "repair" "

yes some do still leak even after they redesigned the seals, but this doesn't seem that often (fingers crossed) and it can be fixed after a few trips to the dealers :? well sometimes :D

hope this doesn't put the 206CC in bad light.

shout if need anymore help :D

Cheers

Many thanx 4 the welcome and the comments.

Am possible going to buy through http://www.buy-abroad.com

They have a cracking deal for 2.0 SE which includes Leather Pack, Met Paint (Black all round 4 me :-) ), better than some of the posts I've read.

Is there a "space saving" wheel for the 206 range that will do as a spare for the CC? Don't really want to lug a full size tyre around in the boot, oh, I forgot what boot..... after a wheel's in it.

Have read about Tigra, due in Aug 04, 1.6 150bhp sounds like a little mean machine but am not prepared to wait that long, another summer will have been and gone.

your welcome :D

there is a spacesaver for the 206 but hard to get hold of plus the tyre for it can be even harder to find :?

the new tigra is launched with a 1.4 and 1.8 options in aug/sept then maybe in a couple of years they will launch the 150 1.6 turbo but it all depends which magazine you read coz they all have got different dates/times/prices etc etc

imo the CC is nicer than the tigra - tigra is also a 2 seater and CC is 2+2, if you want a 2 seater then look at the nissan 350z - i'm thinking of getting a test drive in 2wks time when i'm off on holiday, got a few brochures the other day :D

Its well worth it, i've had my 2.0 a year now and (touch wood) it hasn't had any problems at all, its only been back to the dealers once and that was for its 6k checks, so i can say from experience you can get a CC that doesn't leak and doesn't have any real problems, the only thing that i've ever thought needs changing is the squeaky brakes (but at least the work so i'm happy until i can be bothered to get them changed).

Hello!

JUST DO IT!

I bought an imported SE a year ago....I still love him as much as the day he arrived!

No problems at all...touch wood and all that...only minor niggle is how utterly horridly my local dealer treated me and my imported car when he went for his service. Do they think that will help encourage me to buy from them next time? Don't THINK SO!

Anyway....I bought mine through Motorpoint in Derby who were fantastic..and it was no hassle.

Here's to a summer as sunny as last year!

Seems to be potluck when buying a new cc. I am personally chuffed to bits with my car and have had it almost 3 years now with no real issues.

However IMO the warranty isn’t worth a penny, as you will have to deal with Peugeot staff if you need anything done and from others experiences they are useless at fixing anything. I wouldn’t suggest a cc to anyone who isn’t prepared to do a little maintenance work themselves. By that I mean fixing squeaks and rattles, which shouldn’t be a problem if you ask people on the website. The cc is a character full car and typically French!

If I were buying a cc now I would probably get a second hand UK car. Try to ascertain if much warrantee work has been carried out on such car and leave it if there has been more than one occurrence. My conclusion from the experiences of people on this website is if you have a dog of a cc then you have a dog for life. At least if you buy second hand you will see what you are getting and have a chance to check things over. Just make sure the seller is selling for the right reasons and not because they brought a dog!

As far as getting a spare. Well the price of a spare wheel and tyre is going to cost a lot more than replacing a tyre that has been filled with foam. Loads of cars are now being supplied with foam rather than a spare wheel.

I wouldn’t have a Vauxhall if you paid me. Peugeots do have their faults, but are relatively minor compared to Vauxhalls reputation for chucking cambelt wobblies.
