okie, please don't laugh, but what's a zaust?u may even find it hard to find any1 to remove your cat. a superchip wouldnt be 400 quid for the cc. i think u are thinking of chips that can be re-programmed. superchips cant be re-programmed. (as far as i know).
if you get a filter and a zaust you wont notice much difference tbh. but it will sound nice.

I would imagine removing the cat from a CC will mess things up a treat.
There are 2 lambda sensors and the second one needs the cat in place or it won't send the required signals to the ecu.
There's no cheap way of getting decent power. I'd do all or nothing.
A jenvey throttle body kit is about £950.
then you need it fitting and you will need a management system to run it all.
There's nothing wrong with the 2 litre engine in the CC se and the GTi.
It's safe for 180 bhp in the GTi 180 and that offers reliability, legal emissions and refinement levels. i don't see why over 200 bhp isn't available safely and reliably with a little increased noise!!!
First thing i'd do is get a decent back box and see about removing the middle box from the exhaust. if you want to remove the car for a freer flowing one then i'm sure somebody will do a sports cat.

could be like me and Turbo it, but then you have to consider monster brakes, special driveshafts, engine mounts, place for intercooler, loosing your aircon plus lots of other mods!!
Also it's not cheap will cost you in the region of 15K+ (depending on turbo conversion tho)

a sports cat wont affect the lambada probes but there no point putting cams on the car as the electronics wont allow them to work properly conside your self to the fact that if you want more than 170 bhp you gunna need at least a couple of thousand, throttle bodies, turbo or super chargers are all a good buy but cost a shed load, unfortunatly there are next to no engines you can put it the pug due to all the electromnics on the car!
