Handbrake... distance from driving position

When picking up my CC from Peugeot the saleswoman went through all the controls and mentioned that the handbrake was further over to the left to provide your left arm with a 'better arc movement' (or something along those lines)...

The handbrake is quite far over to the left and my fingers sometimes scrape the passenger seat leather. Was anyone else told this? as i was just wondering if it was something to do with left and right hand drives and the dealer was making it up.

to me they havent bothered moving it in the change from lhd and rhd models really... coz mine is a lhd and the hand brake is nice and close......

yeah guessed as much... thanks peeps.

My rev counter is on the left and speedo on the right. I thought that was a bit unusual.
