I bought my car in November (and love it!) and get a free six months service and then have to have the yearly one which I have to pay for. My mum has a Peugeot (not a lovely 206CC though!) and she was quoted about £250 for the annual service. She decided to take it to a reliable service guy we know who sorted it for £90! Still stamps the service book etc for re-sale.

I don't fancy paying £250 odd, but am worried not to be covered by Peugeot's warranty etc especially because of things like the roof and the potential of it going wrong.

What you do guys think?

Have a good weekend everyone!

think it's 2 years or 20,000 miles for servicing the CC,saying that tho think it's same for the normal 206 as well :D

mine was £175ish i think best to shop around as £250 is way to high

Last "2 yr / 20K miles" service I paid for was on a previous 206 in 2001 - cost me £114 if I remember rightly. This was at a franchised Pug dealer in Kendal (was in the Lake District on holiday) They were also over £30 cheaper than the dealer I got the car off in Derby.

When I got my CC I was told that after the free 6 month checkup, you then have a 1yr / 10K miles "top-up" service. Then 2yrs / 20K miles "proper" service. 3yrs / 30K "top up". 4yrs / 40K "proper" service etc.

Also the dealer stressed that any non-franchised dealer servicing in the Warranty period = void warranty. I am sure I read somewhere that the EU were planning on bringing in some law to stop the manufacturers putting this caveat into the warranties - as a local independent garage will be cheaper than a franchised dealer and probably do a better job too. As far as I know, they can still get away with this - but the people to ask are the CC owners on this forum who have had servicing done "elsewhere" then made warranty claims.

i believe your warranty will be void if you get your car serviced outside of the pug dealer network. laws could be passed to stop this but don't think they have been yet.

shop around as many dealers as you can. i got my 20k service around may/june last year. prices quoted were £106, £125 and £150 - i picked the 1st one :D - mines is a 2.0SE

i think the last service i had for my 206 1.4LX around june 2001 was £67 at the same place.

getting your service at an independent place and them stamping the book doesn't give you a peugeot service history, just a service history - they probably do a better job as well but that's the way it works :)
