just been for a drive, put on the face plate for me pioneer DEH8400R mp3 player and the !"£$%^& thing doesn't work :( :( :(

it's one just like this - http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product ... duct=19019

found the invoice and shock horror it's 2 years old  could of sworn it was only last year, doesn't time fly when topless CCing :D

took it too the local i.c.e shop, they've taken it out and said it might be the little ribbon cable that joins the stereo to the face plate, about £40-50 if it is  hope it's something cheaper.

anyone else had trouble with their pioneer ??

Hi Lyndon
Hope it's not too serious and expensive.
I don't like your question !!
I just bought the Avic-X1 so don't make me too paranoid.
Best of luck,
Per

Hi if you know that your stereo is completely f***ed and is going to cost a lot to repair Halfords use to do a repair system where it cost you £80 no matter what was wrong with it and it would come back repaired. This was good if you knew that it would cost more than that to repair but if it was less then you lost out, not sure if they still do it.

!"£$%^ the motor died on the front bit, it wouldn't flip down but it still worked, so back it went to the repair shop, they fitted a new motor, only charged for the part which cost £15+vat but they didn't have change so only charged me the £15 :D

they also fitted a pioneer modified plastic surround as pioneer know thats why the ribbon didn't last as long, it's got a half inch cut out in the bottom edge, will take pictures if needed :D

if pioneer knows of the problem d'ya think it'll be possible to try and reclaim the first bill that i spend on getting the ribbon fixed even tho it's out of warrenty or have i got no chance at all :?

Gotta be worth the price of a letter and a stamp...
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.
