:x My passenger seat is jammed, kind of half way forward on its runners. It will move forward but wont go back - just stops dead with a huge clunk as if somethings stuck in the mechanism. I think the kids were sliding it forward and back :-(

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it? Dont wanna have to take it to dealer.....

Cheers

Happens loads on my 206 hatch and it's annoying. Usual fix is to move the level backwards and push the seat back backwadrs as well. As lnog as it mvoes, when you release the lever you should be able to push it forwards and move the entire seat forwards as normal.

Thanks

Tried that and the seat wont budge backwards at all. Someone drove into the back of me about a week ago, knackered the towing point and scratched the bumper, but I wonder now whether the jolt did something to the seat mechanism. Will add it to the insurance claim. :-(

Have you tried to move the seat BACK backwards, and not just the seat itself? It does make a difference when mine jams.

My passenger seat was jammed fully forward once. All I did was lift the lever and give it a good push forward and it seem to fix the problem :D

Thanks....have tried all that. There's a bolt come out underneath the seat. Someone recently drove into the back of me and I wonder whether that shunted the seat off its fixings or something. Anyway...gonna get the garage to check it when they sort the damage out at the back......

Is this 'bolt' more like a pin with a metal bush on it?

The bush could be still attached to the mechanism.

My GTi seat jammed. I took off the plastic side panel and looked at the mechanism.
Then i noticed the pin had dropped off onto the floor.

An update.....

CD Bramalls of Stourbridge took CC off for 4 days to repair the accident damage...needed new rear bumper and towing point....and they repaired the seat under warranty - even tho car is more than 3 years old. They said as it only had 18k on the clock that they would do it as a warrantied item.

Car was returned completely valeted and was sparkling....even the air con smelt nice :D

I was really impressed with them and am gonna take Baloo there now for servicing rather than my local dealer who don't seem to care....

One happy bunny
