Can you cope with a 206cc with a new baby

Hi there

I am expecting my first baby next month and currently have a 206cc as the main car. We havent had the car a year yet and if we sell it we will lose quite a lot of money on it as it is also an import so dealers wont touch it.

Has anyone kept there 206cc and used as the main car with a new baby, and if so did you cope?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

in a nut shell the answer is definately "No"

unless your partner doesn't mind being squashed in the back, we have a 3 door corolla and a five month old son. and even thats a right pain to use. The problem is not only the tight sqeeze to put him in the front, but also the fact that you couldn't put the top down anyway. one reason is due to all the baby stuff in the boot and also cos you should really expose your newborn to too much sunlight. So even on the most sunny days i leave the cc at home and go out in the corolla, thats why i've decided to sell and get a family saloon.

although sad to see it go, deep down i know its totally impractical

Sadly, I think either your other half, the baby or the CC will have to go!! I know what I'd do.......
We wouldn't be able to cope with the CC as our main car (luckily hubby has a sensible (boring) grown up car - yawn!) and we don't have kids! Just getting the dog and all her paraphernalia in is a squeeze and she gets most indignant about having to sit in the back!!

We've got a baby coming in the next 3 weeks or so and have no intention of getting rid of the cc.

Roof up: Pushchair fits in the boot
Roof down: Pushchair straps to the boot rack (knew there was a use for that thing!)
Passenger airbag switches off.
Isofix seat mountings for in a few months time.
Room in the back for one adult at a time.

Sorted.

ha ha but won't that just make it harder when you realise theres no chance in hell of using it as a main car.

I am having to say goodbye to my baby CC in exchange for another (in my tummy).

I can't see how I can cope with the lack of room and the fact that my boyfriend when driving sits near enough on the back seat of the car. I can just imagine the problems when he comes to pick 'us' up from the hospital!!!

I will be sorry to see her go especially with the weather being so good at the moment!!!

We have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and although its cramped and you have to watch for little fingers when moving the roof its OK, although we limit to short journeys and use other transport (Ford Galaxy) for trips etc.
The DVD in the Galaxy being one of the main reasons.....ahh[/url]

[I am new to this site today and signed up purely to check whether a baby seat could fit in the back of 206cc. Having spent 2 hours reading various posts, it is not looking good. Guess I will have to use the isofix mountings in the front and squash hubby in the back.
If anyone knows of a baby seat that will fit in the back I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Dont want to have to get rid of my car as I love it.
