S2000 as they'll last for ages and its a convertible afterall. Think you would miss out on all the lovely sunshine if you got a non convertible after the CC.

Will still have the CC until its 3 yrs old,then chop in for maybe a 307cc,hopefully they sorted any probs by then.

This is just a fun car for me,does not matter if it con or not

S2000 do seem to be a popular choice at the mo,i had a s plate one a few yrs ago and it was a cracker,just wanted peoples differant views on other cars.

That's the motor industry's opinion. Of course, until the three years are up nobody really knows.

fair enough although they are not actually opinions they are estimates, and if glass and the other industry specialists don't know their job...

anyway, to bring more solid facts, a couple of people on the Z forum are selling/have sold their Nov03 Z practically at list price, from private, after 8 months, can't be bad!

Having owned an Impreza in the past I personally wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot bargepole. Not only have you got horrific depreciation but the image has also gone downhill massively in the last few years. If you read the JD power ratings from a few years ago when they kept on winning you would think they were the best cars in the world (Sad enthusiasts the only people who voted) but my experience is quite the reverse. I found build quality to be poor and the running costs stupid as you were looking at < 20 MPG and Â£500 a year servicing. Also hate to break it to people who own one but the UK impreza's are not even that fast.

TVR - I live near Mole Valley TVR and personally wouldn't buy one due to the horror stories on Pistonheads and the fact that I have seen several at Mole Valley being pushed into the workshop! Friend has a Chimera and I was actually shocked at how the thing was put together.

RX8 - Not my cup of tea, poor fuel consumption, worried about residual values as people are still wary of Rotary (Wankel) engines.

Nissan 350 - Ugly and has the wrong badge on the front. Again worried about residual values in a few years incase it goes the way of the 200SX

S2000 - Getting there but not too sure about the badge on the front.

Boxster - Personally my choice, good residual values and the right badge on the front.

I forgot that the 0-60 time is the only thing of any importance when buying a car.

Boxster 2.7 : Top speed: 253 km/h (157 mph) 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.4 secs

Subaru WRX : Top speed 232km/h (144 mph) 0-100km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 secs

You are completely correct the Porsche Boxster is 0.5 seconds slower to 62 than the WRX and is therefore a pile of junk.

I never said the Boxster was a pile of junk. In fact I suggested it as a suitable option earlier in the thread (before you suggested it). But you said you wouldn't touch a Scoob with a 10 foot bargepole. Whatever you think of it, you shouldn't just dismiss it.

Anyway, Boxsters are irritatingly common. Almost as common as Scoobs and TTs.

I so dont accept to hear that the Z is ugly from someone who has owned an impreza!!!!!

again with these residual values.... try and get an 8 months old car at less than list price
