Hi everyone,

Has anyone else has a noisy heater fan? On setting 1 mine is very noisy, like the brushes or bearings have gone - it's quite loud as I can hear it when driving. I expect it to be loud on a higher setting, but not on the lowest setting. Is this normal in a 206?

Cheers,

Matt

I took it in to the dealers but they said there was no problem with it... I need to listen to my mate's 206 - perhaps I'm just being too fussy!!

At least they replaced my squeaky brake pads though.

Mine has just started to make an intermitant stange noice - it is not all the time, but it sounds like the fansneed some WD40! Typically the car is just out of warranty now, so I am a bit concerned about how much this is going to cost to sort if it the problem continues...

I many have a solution to this,, it aint the fan,, its the speed controller,, im working on getting this sorted on my car,, just need to know if the mosfet or whatever the speed controller thing is, is located on the motor or somewhere else..

The symptoms i had was fan makes funny noise and changes speed randomly,, now my fan is on 100% of the time even when car aint running and i got keys in at pos 2,, so what i need to establish is where the speed controller is... hopefull its on the fan unit and not on the display unit,, i kinda think it IS on the motor unit cos the other fan functions on the display panel work,, if u can wait a few weeks then ill update on what i find,, but ive spent all my sparfe cash on a new exhaust system and new pads so it will have to wait until next payday ;)
