I think he would have the Ultima if it wasn't going to be his day car...the Noble looks a better fit for that. And, his Company pay the petrol..as he uses it for client site work. How good is that!
But hey, its not my money or my choice, though I'm not complaining!
I love the Boxster..apart from taking flack that the cc alloys I had were forever being referred to 'as them fake Porsche things!' I will be sad when it goes.

After living with the RX-8 for six weeks, I’ve no regrets. Of course as soon as the suns out all I see on the roads are topless CC's, but that is a small price to pay to keep the child in the back quiet. Even the mother-in-law can get in the back seats and she is 86. Once you get used to using all those revs (up to 9500rpm) you really have to start watching the speed.
The TT's been out for a while but still looks great if you get the right colour and right spec ie18" wheels. Nowt wrong with a TT, can't be as common as the cc is getting.
As for the RX8, its a nice car but only if you can put up with all the hassle of driving a rotary engine and the crap fuel consumption

What hassle? It’s exactly the same as any other car.
If you mean having to check the oil every 1000 miles it’s not that much hassle. Fuel consumption is an issue for some I’m getting about 25mpg – only a bit less than my CC was giving.
what size engine should I be looking at?
You have a choice of two, both 1300cc rotary – 190bhp or 230bhp. I went for the 230 only because all I want is power. And I think that residuals will be better for the higher spec. Its only when you are pushing on that the 230 comes into its own. Test drive them both and don’t be afraid to get that rotary buzzing.

I was told by a rx8 owner about engine flooding, so no short journeys, ie moving car off the drive and if you stall you can't start the engine straight away in case of flooding
also having to wait a couple of minutes each time you start the engine before you can pull off.
And finally consumption was way off the official figures
It put me off getting one, i just wanna jump in and drive

Flooding was an issue and I know of a few people who had problems exactly as you describe. However a couple of months ago Mazda issued an update to the ECU and as far as I know this has solved all the problems, I haven’t heard of any cars that have had the update flooding. I just get in drive just as any other car, take it out of the garage and stop, restarts first time every time.
