My sister's CC has developed a crack in the exhaust near the backbox. Peugeot claim that they'll have to replace the entire exhaust system (with Cat) at a cost of about £700 and that they can't replace just the backbox.
Does this seem realistic to anybody?

My exhaust has gone on the same spot, according to my dealer my registration is a 206 5 door 1.4 in red!!!!!!!!!!!!! erm NOPE. Anyway the dealer couldn't give me the price as I couldn't reel off my Chassis Number from the top of my head (if the records were accurate I wouldn't need to) and was told that exhausts are only covered by warranty for 1 year and there was "no goodwill anymore". I am awaiting a call from Peugeot UK regarding it being replaced - seems odd that mine is the third posted about in the last 3 weeks that has gone in the same place (see posting http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/modules.p ... ht=exhaust too). I will let everyone know the outcome, this could yet appear in Auto Express, praise if Pug change the system and "in the doghouse" if they try and fob me off.

Well Peugeot fobbed and sloped their shoulders so I have had a section removed and a new piece put in where it had gone......much cheaper than the peugeot option. Although it is now sorted if it is a known problem I am going to keep on at them until they make an effort to look after their customers.

Does anybody actually produce a replacement section for the 2 lambda car yet??
More and more of these are going to be needed now that they are getting towards normal replacement age.
Obviously Peugeot will want to sell the section complete with the cat but as yet everybody else seems to only do an exhaust for the 1 lambda GTi.
So it seems like everybody will need to do what I did and get a 3 inch section removed to shorten it. That's the only way it will fit though.
Only cost me £45 ish for the section and £25 for fitting.

Not found anyone that has an OE replacement, always been a stainless system or a cut off section. Strangely there is a replacement for the 1.6 by Bosal but not hte 2litre yet. It has been raised as a technical fault with Peugeot by Andy Swietophowski (Customer Care Manager at Peugeot UK). I strongly suggest that anyone who has a problem with this call Peugeot on 0845 200 1234 and ask for him to add some weight to the case.

My dealer told me that the exhaust was only covered for a year. I even tried arguing that the problem could have been enhanced when they changed the manifold........no go. That was when I went to the dealer after being hung up on when I called and asked them for a price, they couldn't because their records are totally inaccurate and my car is listed as a 1.4 5 door hatch in red. when I expressed my unhappiness at this the line went dead.
