Anyone used or using the Peugeot Clarion CD Changer (optional)? where does it reside? in the boot or the glovebox?

i am getting a CD changer but not the Peugeot option. Can the the Clarion retail market models DCZ625 and DC625 be used with my current head unit? Can it be installed in the glovebox?

TQ

When I was looking for a CD changer to fit directly onto my standard Peugeot head unit (RD3), I was told by Clarion that the only changer that would simply plug in and work with the steering wheel controls and dashboard display, was the one supplied by Peugeot. There is a lot of information in the ICE section of the forum which confirms what I was told. However, it does appear that there are CD changers which will work with the existing head unit, though not necessarily with the dashboard display or without some kind of adapter. Check out all the postings for more info.

I bought a second hand Peugeot changer and fitted mine on the left hand side of the boot, at the back, upright, although according to my local Peugeot dealer, they usually "strap" it to the inside of the boot in the middle, at the front.

Good luck!

I would have thought that if a changer works with the headunit, it will work with the display and stalk because it's the headunit that uses them and not the changer. Clarion probably have a contract to only supply those to Peugeot and Peugeot want your money.

I may be wrong though...

nope the BSI uses the settings that are set in the display. so when the display doesnt know that theirs a cd changer is hooked up it wont work.
