Window tinting laws

Has anyone been caught with illegal tints? want to get tints but on my old car they were jet black, the legal tints are so light not worth the trouble!

Hello there had my windows tinted today and the legal limit is what they call a light smoke. Had done all round ( except frt windscreen ) and cant believe the difference it has made to the look of the car. All done in a day and a very professional job done. Well happy.

Yeah but are they very see through?
I had limo tint and dark smoked on my old car!

Depends what u call see though @ night you cant see into the car, during the day you can make out the red leather and chrome hoops but then again you cant see into the car, but then doesnt look to dark.

Window tinting laws:

The police dont normally care HOWEVER!

you are not allowd any more than 30% legally- F.I the standard tint on a lexus or BMW X5

BUT

if you are stopped, the police need the "tinting gun" to check you, and it needs to have been calibrated in the last few hours, and if you tell them you got the tints done before the law came into place...your in the clear.....so long as they cant prove otherwise

but they usually turn a blind eye to anything Below 45%

and gettin a 206cc tinted should cost around 150...thats what i payed
