Hi all, hope sumone can help me!

I have an '03 CC, only had it a month and decided I could do with a hands-free kit and a new stereo, only to be told by Halfords that I can't get either put in as there's sumthing dodgy about the CC's wiring that applies to certain years cars. Has anyone else heard of this b4???

Many Thanx

Kia78 :)

they mean it's mulitplexed/multiplexing which basicly means it's similar to fibre optics (i think) do a search as loads of people have changed their stereo's easily, think you just need a small adapter so the new stereo 'talks' to the car :D

Changing the head unit should cause a problem. Loads of cc owners out there I'm sure have changed their head unit with no problem whatsoever.

I've got a kenwood headunit in my car and it works spot on. I've even put the old unit back in for a while afterwards with no probs.

Thanx for all your help :)

I just don't want to knacker the car for the sake of having a funky stereo which is what the sales-man said could happen, he's obviously very incompetent tho lol

I shall look further afield in my search for the perfect stereo now, Thanx again...!!!

Go somewhere else like the specialist stores as you'll get proper advice and I'm sure you'll get the head unit you want cheaper than Halfords too :)
