hmmm this is a strange one, shouldnt hear cd/radio if you select the correct source. First thing is to enable the AUX, to do this while the uhit is off, press MENU or something similar to go into set up and enable AUX. Turn the unit back on (i think sony has 2 button SOURCE and MODE, press source to go CD > RADIO > AUX . You can also set AUX level from menu "AUX Level" . Each unit has slightly different setup/buttons but hope this help

thats not as easy as it looks!
the sony radios do not permit to use the aux in unless you connect a cd changer! its needed to "fool" the radio so you can use the aux in as you want! i dont know how to do it but it takes some knowledge of electronics!
but to be sure you better contact the store where you bought the radio or any installer!

<- "using the AUX at the back" , if it has AUX input no need to "fool" it to do anything, plug in and choose "AUX" instead of RADIO, CD, CDC thats the reason for AUX input  . (The sony with AUX input has RCAs input in the rear, and AUX source in the menu. Some Sony DO permit AUX input eg. cdx mp80)HELP I HAVE NOW PUT MY IPOD THOUGHT MY SONY HEAD UNIT USING THE AUX ON THE BACK IT ONLY WORKS IN THE AUX OUT FRONT BUT YOU CAN HEAR THE RADIO OR CD WHICH EVER YOU HAVE ON IN THE BACK GROUND THE LOUDER YOU TURN THE SYSTEM UP THE MORE YOU CAN HEAR ANY IDEAS PLEASE

some sony may permit that but the most of sony's head units have the aux input but it doesnt work as a really aux input...its called like that but only accepts cd changers and md changers...it doesnt accept ipods or dvd players or nothing like that! at least the older models dont accept that, that i garantee it to you!

el, it obvious that you are talking about unit with NO auxilary input if it has you will have one set of audio in for AUX and one set for Changer, both can be connected AT THE SAME TIME and can switching between the 2 source with ease (i own a mdx mp80), and yeah if you have no AUX input you can use the changer audio in but the hard part is to change the source to "CDC" since you have no changer connected. been countless discusion on this forum on the subject, so far dont know any one who successfully did it with the OEM unit.

well im just talking about my experience here in portugal and i know a countless number of friends that own sony head units and they do have aux input and they all have the same problem when connecting the dvd players to their aux input! some of them had to arrange some kind of device that allow them to use the aux input has a tue aux input!
maybe where talking of different things and dont realise it
