Hello all,

Right then i have decided to buy either a Sony Cdx-f 7500 head unit for my car
http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_prod ... o=CDXF7500
By the way is there much difference between the cdxf7500 and the 7700 as all i can see is it has a extra 2 watts per channel for another £50 odd quid

I know i need a connects2 box to make the stalk work http://www.connects2.com/

I also have decided to buy a stealth boxz from audio acoustics http://www.autoacoustics.com/sbo-206cc.htm

But dont know wheter to go for a 10in or 12in, is there really much differnece?
Can you provided links to good subs 10 and 12 in ones please.

What i need know is help deciding what amp to buy, im not after top of the range stuff but something half decent, a few ideas with links would be great as people have said before what to look for but when you are a novice like me its hard when you actually find the website which one to get.

Also what front speakers are good, obviously need the right size ones links to them as well please.

Also do i need to replace rear speakers? if so agina can you link to a good pair.

Last bit do i need anything else as when i get the whole kit i will get it fitted by a proffesional, but would very much like to go down with it all ready and get it fitted there and then, without having to buy over the counter rip off stuff.

Regards
Louis

10" subs or more 'punchy' where as 12" one's should be able to get to lower bass notes with more bass 'rumble' if that makes sense, so i'd go for 12" :)

amp - depends how loud ya want it :) i had a 5 channel 800watt kenwood in mine or ya could get just a amp for the sub and power the other speakers via the headunit ?

you will more than likely need to upgrade the in car speakers which ever route you go - link here for sizes

i've got some kenwood front speakers and some pioneer rears if ya want um, let me know and we can come to a cheapish arrangement :D :D

Lyndon,

Thanks for reply.
Yes would be interested in speakers mate. Are they in good condition, fully working i take it how much do you want for them. Send it in a pm please.

Ok so a 12 inch sub it is. Can you recommend a good sub with link to it please?

Will the speakers you are selling need to be powered by the amp or head unit.
This is where i get confused. Do most people just get a amp for the sub or for the sub and speakers?
As reading the forum it seems that most people just get a amp just to power the sub. Whats the Vibe vp2 like?

Can you reccomend a good sub please whats this one like or do you know something better. http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_prod ... rtno=GT412
is this better?

p.s. any other advice would be great people.

not much you can do about the rear speaker space is too small to fit anything else in but 4 incher, abit fiddly removing the rear seat to get to it, i replaced the rear with jbl 4 inch tweeter woofer combination (no amp) - not much different still distort if you fade rear too loud

10" subs are good for a tight punchy bass sound where I think 12" subs tend to produce lower bass notes.

I've got a 13" focal in the boot powered by a phoniex gold amp and the bass is really good. Upfront are some apline components powered just by the 4x45 watt kenwood head unit and the sound is ok though I suspect they would sound much better with an amp running them but I happy with what I've got.

What do you mean by tight punchy bass im confused.

i listen mainly to funky dance music, so what would the best one with regards to that be worth going for 10" or 12"
