Hi my boyfriend and i tried fitting my new JL sub the weekend, we hit a problem but think we have worked that out now.
First of all does anyone know if a 12 inch JL is any good?
Also we have made a custom sub box which just sits under the screen for the roof.
Will this be ok when the roof is down?

I've had my install for over 2 years now and my sub is in a custom made box that goes under the screen and I've experianced no problems with it when the roof is down. The sound is great and the bass sound filters through to the cabin.

Take a look at the pics of my install.

thanks for replying!
Also if the whole box is not much bigger than the sub does that make the sound poorer or better?

here's my old setup -

no problems at all after 3 1/2 years of use, the sub box was removable, later on the cd changer was moved to under the amp to give me a little bit more room :D
