Hi
I'm new to this forum, so please forgive any lapses of protocol on my part.
I've had a 2 ltr CC for four years and it's been brilliant . Took it in for MOT last week and it passed. Service co - not an official Peugeot dealer - also topped up refrigerant in Aircon. Mechanic drove it back to us then engine started misfiring. Literally on two cylinders.
Checked sparkplugs - OK
Check coil unit - not ok
Replaced coil unit - still not ok
They had no codes for the management/control unit (made by Magneto Marielli apparently) so I shipped it to an authorised dealer. They are proposing to charge me GBP630 for a new unit.
Three questions:
1. is it common for these units to fail after less than 30k miles?
2. Could the unit have been damaged while matey was servicing the Aircon?
3. Can the unit be replaced by a pre-used part e.g. from a scrapped vehicle?
Hope someone can help...

no tis not a common problem.could have been caused by a spike from the coil.
no.tis very unlikly damged ,shorted while aircon was being serviced.
no cant bolt one from a scrap car as each unit(ecu) is coded to that perticular vehicle.
hecge you have a small blue credit card thingy with a transponder code on it.
big doh.
