getting the car back in 2 weeks, all repaired after the accident :D

wanting to put a tv / dvd in the car but really do not have the first clue where to start!!!

I've been looking around on the internet and I just can't find anything like i want. I don't like the look of a screen that flips out, in the middle of the console where the stereo currently is...I was wanting it to look more 'built in'...does anyone have any ideas???

thanks! :D

Another alternative is in the glove box, to get one on the sun visors they would have to be wafer thin if you didn't want them visible when the local scrotes walk past your car.

How about this for a TV option...

I just bought this for my 206cc and along with a car Freeview digital receiver, it looks incredible! I know its only 3.5" screen but once its on, its surprising how good and clear the picture is.

£135.00 off eBay delivered in 3 working days from China to the UK. Can't go wrong!

Since I posted my last post on this, I have purchased two 8" TFT sunvisors (colour coordinated to keep the theft level minimal!) but yet again, eBay to the rescue as I only paid £43 for the pair! I am currently fitting them wired not only to the in-dash TV output, but also switchable to my freeview system. Once in and working, I'll post some pictures so you can see. Getting the custom bodykit fitted next week too so she is undergoing major sugery at the moment!

OK, here's what I have done

I haven't fitted the 8" sunvisors screen yet, but i have them! I had to cut the dashboard a little to get the 3.5" screen in, but it was worth it. The camera doesn't do the picture quality justice. The image you can see is not only from a DVD, but its a DviX avi file. I also want to add, the sound from this system is amazing, without changing or adding anything to the standard cc setup.

Maybe a silly question, but it doesn't look like you have the digital climate control etc...

how much space difference is there on the centre console or is it exactly the same?

I really like the look of what you've done!! :D

Thanks! The interior is undergoing some surgery at the moment! I am still waiting for my blue lit dials (Like the VW style blue) to arrive.

No, the heater on this is not the digital climate control. Its just the standard dials with A/C which i actually prefer anyway. I find it quicker to change the settings on a dial than buttons!

I had to cut away about and inch of the center console from the underside of the stereo, even though its the top of the new system that petrudes. That way it dropped down and slotted in perfectly. I soldered new plugs onto the new DVD/TV so it just plugs in without having to hard wire it.

I took this piture just after I fitted the chrome strip across the centre of the dashboard. That actually goes all round the doors too.

I want her to be different!

Sorry, i just relaised what your actual question was! I believe the space difference between the standard dials and the Digital Climate Control is exactly the same. I'm not sure what the mechanics/electrics are like behind the Digital Climate Control, but here I had plenty of room to take an inch off the centre console just above the heater controls.

Hope that helps...
