Hi all.

Wonder if you can help me.. My 206cc (3 1/2 years old) started sounding like a tank. After further investigation the pipe just in front of the ?? rear silencer (no mechanic here) has rusted and had come away.

This being on a Sunday I had to go to a "cheaper" exhaust garage.. They have fitted another exhaust - for only £135. This includes the pipe and the end silencer (forgive me if thats not what its called)

However the exhaust they have fitted to my car feature all the time on normal 206's..

Do 206 cc's have special exhuasts ?? I realise if I went to PUG they would charge the earth so am not expecting something quite as nice as was originally on there. However in the guys book there were different model numbers for the CC. And yet I seem to have been given a "normal" exhaust. It doesnt end straight - it dips down towards the road so makes the little gap for said exhaust pointless.

Have I been sold the wrong exhaust ???

I am going to try to see PUG dealer to ask them the same question but thought I would try here first.

Thanks in anticipation.

CC's should all have a horizontal tail pipe design, either in oval on the 2 litre cars or round on the 1.6's.
Yours is off a basic normal 206, sounded like they just wanted to make some money by selling a stock item...
I dont see why you needed a new back box if the mid section is the part that has corroded...sounds like they ripped you off.

I asked for back box to be replaced cos he shook it and was full of rust.

So today I took it back and said they had fited wrong back end. Had printouts from internet indicating such.

Replaced FOC even thou new exhaust actually costss £5 more.

Good result !!

One very happy Pug owner :D
