Well had the Mitchelins fitted yesterday and what a difference. I cannot believe the difference a set of tyres make. I haven’t put them to the test too much, but what has amazed me is that my car has lost rattles. I should point out that my car is lowered and does have a harder ride to a standard CC. Over potholes my car would crash about a bit, but now it feels like I am riding on air. Not only this but there isn't the same rumble from the tyres. It’s so quiet with the roof down it feels like I am driving a new car.
Turning in is also far more precise. Whereas before going in to bend I used to have to stick to a line where I am now finding I can adjust mid corner, I had to for the first couple of corners as the steering seems to be more sensitive and I was turning too sharply.
There are just 2 areas where the Goodyear is better. One is price and the other is looks. I will have to see how well they last, but as my wife’s car has done 19K and still on her first set of tyre with well over 5mm of tread, I am fairly confidant that these tyres are worth the extra money.
