my head unit turns its self off sometimes

just fitted my sony headunit to my peugeot 206, 2002 model, (multiplex wireing) ,I used the pc99-x44 adaptor with the pc99xson patch lead, so i can use the remote stalk, however every so often the head unit looses power for a couple of seconds then comes on again, just been on a 30 mile journey and it must have done it at least 3 times, Is this a common problem if so how do i fix it, Any help would be welcomed,

im not sure but i think reap was talking about the multiplex systems needing software updates? main dealer jobs they need to connect to the ecu or summat and reprogram as your car is still recognising the old version of wiring. (i think?)
