No I dont have a crush on my my rear lights!

I got home tonight wondering why the guy behind me nearly drove into the back of my car when turning into the drive.

Found out the brake lights were permanently on, they flickered when the brake pedal was tapped. After some rooting around i found the switch is in the passenger footwell (ah the logic of french cars!). Usually the switches are screwed in and out to adjust but not here they push in :? So a quick push in and all is now ok.

The cable that runs to the switch hangs quite low, so theres a good chance that the cable could be pulled by the passengers foot/feet. I assume thats what happened here.

I wonder how long they have been like that...

No dramas but thought this might be useful to someone one day! :)

Yeah I had this problem too.

I kept getting flashed from behind and couldn't understand why.

Only noticed when I got out with the engine running and looked at the back of the car.

Local dealer made a quick adjustment and they are fine now. The service manager didn't seem surprised when I told him the problem. Said something about the sensor riding up on the brake pedal.

Had the same problem with my wifes 206cc,,, brake lights permantly on. Fix was as decribed , simply refit the connector in the very prominent position in the passenger footwell,,, well prominent for my size 9's anyway.
Darn French "girlie" car !!!!!
