I filled with Tesco petrol from an affected garage late feb, then went on holiday ;) Tesco helpline initially said to get garage to analyse fuel for contamination and claim for costs, but now are saying if you experience no issues then it must be fine.

My concern is next years MoT if the cat is damaged I won't have evidence it was the fuel that caused it, Tesco say they will respond sympathetically with proof of purchase of petrol (which I have).

Local Ford garage say no Fords affected, Pug garage say Oxy sensors are destroyed, but there's also press that garages are changing the sensors anyway to make a fast buck.

Anyone here affected by dodgy petrol? Surprised to find no result on a search of this forum, probably no effect then?

I had only had my car 2 weeks and filled the tank full from Tesco. Didn't drive it for 2 days, then would cut out and started to stall when I slowed down, drove it to local dealer, had to have the fuel filter replaced and petrol drained. Luckly I had my petrol receipt, and I had the filter and sample of the petrol with repaire receipt. e-mailed Tesco and sent them copies of receipts, got my cheque in the post last friday. I now get my petrol from BP. I even get nectar points.

Thanks for replying, it's good to know you got the money but I don't think they're doing everything they could. I expected they would have done some sort of a deal with a breakdown organisation to come out, take fuel, analyse, result, tow the car and repair. I didn't expect to do all the running around myself. Like you I won't be filling up there again.

I'm just concerned any future engine problems will be covered up once the publicity has died down.
