We a have a Peug 206cc couple of years old. It sitting on the drive after my wife drove home from work (only a mile away) and the temps in the red and the lights flashing. ive checked the coolant and it's fine. An hours gone by and the engines cold but the guage still reads high and when the ignition key is taken out the rad fan starts up. Can anyone help please. Ive looke at a few postings and there is talk of different things but if anyone could be a bit more specfic and does anyone know of a site i can get an engine scematic to see where the sensor is much obliged

For anyone reading this I have percivered and tackeld the problem head on. my brother in law who is with the RAC called them out saying it was his car and the guy immediateley diagnosed the problem of the temperature sensor. he even said that because it was such a common problem he kept them on the van. he charged me £18 for the part and for anyone wanting to know where it is it is under the right hand side black plastic cowling next to the battery housing. the sensor has a green end and you can just see it if you look between the cowling and the engine. Anyway hope this helps someone else

Thanks for feeding this back Dazza.
Glad you got it sorted, and this should help someone else in the future.
