Boxes are quite easy to make out of MDF. You just have to ensure the volume is the same as the last box.

I seriously think the sub on the backseat is a strange idea. Sure you have a lot of space left in the boot, but it'll look somewhat stupid sitting there in the backseat, and is sure to attract thieves.

A mdf box in the boot is the only way to go if you ask me. Sure it takes some space, but put your shopping on the back seat if the top is down.

ive shown this pic of my install before, but i'll gladly show it again

BTW Col: it sounds great even if its flat

Im having this issue at the moment too. I was recommended by my ICE installer to go for 2X 8" tubes (Very good ones), linked to a 1000W genesis Sub Amp. These can fit either side of the boot leaving a big gap in the middle for anything you normally put in the boot (Bags, coats, golf bags, dead bodies).

just doing mine at the moment, using a 10inch sub with amp and cd changer all in one long box across the boot. Should still have some room left for the dead body (oops i mean shopping)too as long as it all goes to plan
will do some piccys as soon as it's finished

Clasu, it must have been yours i've seen previously, and it very nice too

As for putting a sub on the back seat i think they meant with a windstop installed, then you wouldn't get have the probelms which you mentioned in the earlier post
