Hi all.

whilst cleaning my car today I have noticed that my rocker cover gasket is leaking which is causing oil to run down the back of the engine :( .
has any one replaced this themselves? it looks straight forward and the part can be brought for a few pounds from gsf car parts? also is this common? Its the 2.0 se and it is leaking from the back gasket and also the holes where the nuts are.

Thanks in advance.

Fairly common with any car. After a while with all the temperature changes the gasket can shrink and get hard. I've not replaced it on a 206cc yet as mine has only done 17k. But I've done several on other engines. Main thing is to dismantle only the necessary bits to get at it and not to overtighten the screws on reassembly. May need a squeeze of instant gasket in the corners at the camshaft pulley end if I remember rightly. I tend to buy my parts from Peugeot but GSF are a well known and reliable alternative source.
