Hello, my 206 cc is in need of a full paint job and a clean up (supermarkets!! grrrr)

So was thinking about getting it done white?? She is silver at the moment, with black and red leather.

My hubby has a garage so he will be doing it. He did his own old car two years ago and i always loved that shade of white (merc white).

What do you reckon? Nina

Noooooooo! :yikes:

Personal choice I suppose but I have a silver one with the red/black seats and I like it the way it is. If I wanted to respray I would probably choose black...but hey...white is the new black it seems?

To give you an idea of what it would look like I found these links

http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h ... s%3Disch:1 and http://www.autanet.cz/photos/805129563_0.jpeg

The other thing that puts me off white is I had a white car years ago and it was a pain to keep clean, I was forever having to use T-Cut to get stains and marks off it. Paintwork has probably improved since then (1983) though :)

Oh thanks Thar! Im not keen on the first link but love the car in the second!!

Looks like hubby will be getting some overtime!! My pug needs a full paint job anyway so he'll only have to put a little extra effort in.

Hopefully i'll have it done soon and photos up! x

Very classy I think, must be a nightmare to keep clean, but then suppose that depends on how dirty you are :P :P

I really loved the black ones and wanted to buy one, but went off it when I saw it.

I've seen blue upholstery in a black CC, didn't look too bad... Would look alright in a Moonstone one too but my guess is that if you get a respray, you'd be thinking something different to the standard CC colours? The blue interior would look perfectly fine in a white CC but thats just my opinion :) I also think it would look interesting in a red CC but i'm guessing not many people will share that view :P

And while on the topic of upholstery and car colour, is there such thing as a red CC with the black and red leather interior??? only ever seen that in black and silver CC's, but not red and i find that strange...

If you are going to the expense of a pukka respray sit down with the sprayer over a cuppa and talk about your options, if you want black go for a "base coat and clear" it will be more durable and easier to keep clean and shiney. IMO
If you are concerned about the blue interior clashing with the black why not have a midnight blue pearl/mica in the black base coat to give it a deep deep blue tint when the sun is on the curvey paintwork?
Yes I agree white does look good, paints have moved on a long long way since the 1980's so much so that most cars are painted in water based paints now.:yikes:

OOOO that gives me summert to think about... I did find on ebay some sellers selling a few different upholstery options from old cc's including the door panels, so a interior colour change could be a cheap option depending on their condition, 2 lady owners my blue interior is almost spotless compared to a couple of others I saw when shopping around

Water based, oo I say, I might get out my Hannah Gordon hat and get painting :D
