Wiring Assistance

Hi thanks for reading, Well its going to be that same old question thats been asked all over the internet "Why does my radio keep losing memory", Well ive tried switching the red and yellow wire and it dont make a bit of difference for me so I wanted to go deeper and investigate.

I read on the internet that some cars may not have a constant live feed so I did some checking and I have now i want to ask can someone help me.

I have a Peugeot 206 GLX I know its not a CC but I hope this wont stop someone from answering my question.

Ok so as it stands these are the wires on my car stereo block and my car block

Stereo Block Car Block

2 Brown
3 White
4 Yellow Purple
5 Blue White

7 Red Pink
8 Black Yellow

If i connect a 12v bulb to connections 3 and 7 on the car block i get positve reading with no ignition. I dont have a volt meter im afraid. When i connect the car block to the stereo block i get power but no memory based on the information there can anyone advise, swapping yellow and red does not do anything as you can see. However as it stands my yellow wire is currently not connecting to anything using the standard wiring however i dont want to join up wires if i dont know what they do. if i was to take car block 3 and swap with stereo block 4 would this solve memory problems.

My other concern is Red on car block should go to positive however in my case its going Earth, however the stereo starts. I need to know what these wires do especially 8 Black to Pink this must be providing power as it works.

Any assistance would be really appreciative. I did try to put things in a table but it messed things up i hope you can understand my wiring...

After another lot of reading of website I found the soloution to my problem this involved me moving fuse 24 up one notch, now when I turn the key stereo comes on when I turn it off it turn stereo off.

Its also keeping memory... now im going to save all my presets bass, treble etc etc then im going for a pint i started trying to solve this problem at 9am, im knackered it would have been easier being in work.
