Hi,
I've not used my Y reg 206 CC for about a month and wasn't too surprised when I tried to start the car that the battery seemed flat. I jumped started and took on a short run. I then pulled up and then turned the key and took it out. To my surprise with the key firmly in my hand the car was still running? I put the key back in and out but still it kept kept running???
I stalled the engine and tried to start again but the battery was still flat. I jump started it again and took it on a longer run and again pulled up and as before when I took they key out it kept running??? Again stalled it and tried to start but the battery was dead.
I'm happy to take the car to the ATS round the corner on Monday for a new battery as mine seems to be dead but am worried why it won't switch off?? Would a dead battery effect things and some how the ignition system? Could I have damage the ignition system by jump starting?
Has any else experience the same thing?
Thanks in advance
