206 fails to start after being left over night

Post by pwarbi »

Hiya all. Just registered on here and I'm already asking for help (sorry) I have a 1.6 206 and I'm at my wits end with the bloody thing. The car gets used daily, but when the car is left over night it won't start in the mrning. Changed the battery for a new one, and I still have the same issue. I take the battery off, put it on charge for maybe 30mins or so, pop it back on and the car fires up straight away...I do have some knowledge of auto electrics, and can only think it a parasitic draw from somewhere, but can't find what is draining the battery...no lights are left on, etc so can't understand where its coming from? Basically just wanted to ask if anybody else as had this kind of problem and if any solutions have been found...I'm looking next at the alternator, but don't think this is the problem cos the charge on the battery seems fine...thanks in advance for any help offered, and sorry once again for asking for help so soon. I will be sure to check out the other topics etc on the forum, as it HAS been a great car up to now...
